Youth Employment Program Replaces SYEP

Greetings again! Long time, no see! The Comanche Nation Workforce Department is pleased to announce that the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) will be getting revamped and replaced with a new program service provided to all Comanche Nation Tribal Youth Members. A decision has been made to now change the summer only program, to a year-round program where we can start putting Comanche Nation tribal youth to work the entire year!! What's this mean, exactly?

Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) - UPDATE

With so much continued positive feedback from the SYEP Surveys, Workforce finally decided to seek approval for the relaunch and initiation of the Summer Youth Employment Program. Workforce can now officially say: the request was approved by our Tribal Administration - we will have a SYEP 2021!!!!! My staff and I are very excited because this is almost everyone's first SYEP experience within the department. We will work our hardest to make it happen and to make it happen succesfully!

Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)

So far, the Comanche Nation Workforce Department has been receiving a lot of positive results, feedeback, and comments from the SYEP Survey that is currently posted on the Comanche Nation Website and Workforce page. Due to these positive results, the Summer Youth Employment Program may be initiated this summer! Workforce still has to meet with Tribal Administration on a green light to proceed but this is a great start, nonetheless.

ACT Assistance for Tribal Youth Members

Attention all High School Juniors and Seniors!! Is attending college an educational pursuit of yours after you graduate from high school? Look no further! The Comanche Nation Workforce Department is giving assistance to all high school Juniors and Seniors with their American College Testing (ACT). We plan on assisting the first 50 tribal youth applicants who apply with our department, a chance to receive a testing voucher for their ACT Exam & ACT Written Exam combined.

Classroom Training Service - LTCNA & BLS CPR Training Courses

So far, with the launch of our event and partnership with Great Plains Technology Center (GPTC), we have had only three (3) applicants apply for the Long-Term Care Certified Nurse Aide (LTCNA) and Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR training courses. We plan on assistancing at least nine (9) applicants, so we are six (6) applicants away from our goal! Please remember to check the Workforce Facebook page for the update, revised LTCNA Flyer for more information.

WIOA Outreach

The Comanche Nation Workforce (W.I.O.A.) Department is proud to announce the restart of outreach events and activities! We will be hosting WIOA Outreach to all nearby communities to the best of our capabilities during this time. Our first outreach event was hosted in Cache, OK but we will not stop there!
