The Comanche Nation Funeral Home has reopened. We would like to thank everyone for their patience during the closure.
June 24, 2020
Dear Tribal Members,
In order to address any concerns or confusion from recent information regarding the Comanche Nation Elder Center quarantine , I want to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have created.
ATTENTION COMANCHE NATION MEMBERS
The recent mandate for quarantine of our own Funeral Home is warranted. The Comanche Nation is following the Center for Disease Control (CDC) protocol and practices. The Nation has been proactive in all situations that calls for safety of every Comanche Nation member. This event is no different, and should be looked upon as 100% safety first.
Those members who have lost a loved one-
1. The same costs associated with burial has not changed (is guaranteed) by the 2019 Tribal Council approval of program "Burial Assistance."
NOTICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC
EFFECTIVE JUNE 9, 2020 COMANCHE NATION FUNERAL HOME WILL BE IN QUARENTINE UNTIL JUNE 23, 2020. WE WILL RESUME FULL OPERATIONS AT THAT TIME. YOU MAY STILL CALL 580 351-0045 FOR ASSISTANCE AT ANY TIME. LAWTON RITTER GRAY ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD BE HAPPY TO ASSIST DURING THIS TIME.
THANK YOU

“When Governor Stitt took a legal position that the Comanche Nation’s Gaming Compact expired on December 31, 2019, the Comanche Nation sued Governor Stitt and the State of Oklahoma. Indeed, the Nation takes the legal position—and continues to take the legal position in unity with all Oklahoma tribes—that the Gaming Compacts automatically renew. So why would the Nation now voluntarily dismiss its lawsuit against Governor Stitt and Oklahoma? The bottom line is that the Nation signed a Compact that is much better than its old Gaming Compact. For example, the Nation now pays only 4.5% in revenue sharing to the State as opposed to the 6% it previously paid.
