Arlene

Arlene Schonchin is the 15-year-old daughter of Lynn Jr. and Jolene (Jimenez) Schonchin, the granddaughter of the late Arlene Wockmetooah Jimenez and Joe “Papa Joe” Jimenez on her maternal side, and the granddaughter of the late Lynn Schonchin Sr. and Linda Jimenez on her paternal side. She is an enrolled member of the Comanche Nation, with Modoc, Piute, and Klamath lineage as well. Her maternal great-grandparents are the late Roy Wockmetooah and Lillie Tomahsah Pratt Tieyah. Her maternal great-grandma is the late Anna Wockmetooah Tahmahkera, who gave her the Comanche Name, Nai?bi Nuukawapu (Pretty Dancer) when Arlene was an infant. Her great-great-great-grandparents are Charles Pratt and Rose Nahwats, and Judd (Wockmetooah) Komah and Edith Kowenoah. Arlene is a descendant of Comanche Chiefs Wildhorse and Whitewolf and is from the Kwahada band and Yapuruka Comanche bands. She was the American Indian Catholic Outreach Princess from 2019-2022, and the Comanche Indian Veterans Association (CIVA) Princess from 2022 to 2024.

She is a straight-A student at Elgin High School, where she is a sophomore, and plays varsity soccer for her school. She has been in the powwow arena since she was an infant and has participated in numerous powwows, social events, and ceremonies throughout her life for both the Comanche Nation and internationally. She is proud to be elected the 2024 Comanche Nation Jr. Princess and serve her tribe in this capacity.
