Senior Spotlight: Mykkaa Coleman

Senior and Cache Bulldog Mykkaa Coleman is a running back and defensive back for the football team.

He also plays basketball and runs track, while being a member of the student council, Native American Club and Partners Club, which his brother was also a part of.

Coleman said he enjoys traveling in the Native American club.

“To meet other Native American students and like mingle with them, get to like get connections and stuff,” he said.

Coleman said his parents motivated him to participate in athletics to maintain a healthy lifestyle after an injury.

Some of his accomplishments include both on- and off-field achievements.

“One of my greatest accomplishments is making it to state for track and completing a lot of college classes in my past years,” Coleman said.

As for post-graduation, he wants to focus on science and math.

“I plan to go to OU or OSU or anywhere around Oklahoma area for engineering, like a good engineering school, and I want to do chemical engineering,” he said.

Coleman said he’s going to miss his teammates the most.

“I've lived with them my whole life, always been with them. I made like really deep bonds with all of them,” he said. “I'm just going to miss them all.”

Coleman’s family teaches him about his Native American culture and attends many powwows.

In his downtime, he plays 2K.
