First Teams Advance in Comanche County Basketball Tournament

Teams saw their first eliminations on Thursday, January 23, at the Comanche County Basketball Tournament, which was hosted at the Great Plains Coliseum.

Indiahoma faced Fletcher with a halftime score of Fletcher 31 to Indiahoma 13, with Lady Warrior Laila Tissychy putting her name on the board.

Indiahoma would get points from Lady Warrior Skylar Guajardo, and Fletcher Lady Wildcats would finish 57 to 27.

Big Pasture and Tipton would tip off and finish Tipton 48 to Big Pasture 36.

Chattanooga and Sterling would be next to hit the hardwood, with a halftime score of Chattanooga 25 to Sterling 9.

Lady Warrior Maddie Koweno would catch a rebound, leading to an extra 3 points on the board, finishing with a win 52 to 17.

Geronimo Lady Blue Jays and Walters Blue Devils would be last to tip off with a half-time score of Blue Devils 36 to Lady Blue Jays 6.

Geronimo’s McKenzie Huffman would help put points on the board, and the game would end with Walters 64 and Geronimo 19.

Brackets continue for the girls on Saturday, with Fletcher and Tipton playing consolation at 11 a.m., Sterling and Geronimo playing for third place at 2 p.m. and Chattanooga and Walters playing for the championship at 6:30 p.m.

Boys games will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 24.
