About Compliance

Compliance is an area within the Comanche Nation Tribal Government, under Administration, that oversees the monitoring of all federal grants, BIA 638 contracts, and CNG funding, along with ensuring that all laws, policies, procedures, protocols, processes, rules, and regulations are followed and adhered to by employees and directors. Compliance is important because it helps organizations avoid legal and financial risks, protects their reputation, and promotes operational efficiency. By adhering to laws, regulations, and internal policies, tribal departments and programs can ensure smooth operations, minimize penalties, and maintain trust with employees and directors. This area is overseen by one Compliance Officer who reports all findings and issues to the Tribal Administrator. The overall goal is to ensure our tribal government is effective in all areas and complies with the highest standards of integrity.

The Compliance Officer is designed to monitor all existing department and programs within the tribal government that operate under CNG funding, Federal Grant funding, and BIA 638 Contract funding, while ensuring that each department and program follows all existing CNG Guidelines, plus federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations. A part of tribal compliance within our Nation has been the ability to provide in-house employee trainings along with leadership trainings for our directors. By providing in-house trainings to our staff, we can enhance their skill set and make them a better employee, which in turn provides better services to the Comanche Nation people. Compliance regulation not only plays a role in daily operations and administrative duties, but also plays a part in the establishment of compliance within our tribal government infrastructure, to ensure the safety of our employees and providing a safe work environment to conduct daily business. Compliance continuously monitors our tribal departments and programs, ensuring success of following regulations and avoiding risks at all cost that could impact or affect our tribal services.
