History

Comanche Nation Youth Program & K–12 Student Services Overview

The Comanche Nation Youth Program was established in 2003 and officially launched its afterschool and summer programming in January 2004. This initiative was developed as a preventative effort to reduce the impact of the many challenges faced by Comanche youth.

In April 2004, during the General Council, the Comanche Nation K–12 Student Services program was created. This service was designed to provide educational support to enrolled Comanche students in grades K–12, regardless of where they live.

At the General Council in April 2005, a motion was passed to secure ongoing funding for these vital programs for as long as the Comanche Nation exists. The motion was met with unanimous approval.

Together, these programs are dedicated to empowering Comanche youth—fostering personal growth, educational success, and a brighter future for both the individual and the Comanche Nation as a whole.
