TCNN PIO: How does it feel to be a runner-up at the biggest tournament in Counties?

Maddie Koweno: It feels good. I mean, it kind of sucks that we didn't win, but I know that we all tried our best, and we all just really tried, but we still that isn't determined on how we do in State. That doesn't really determine anything. That's our first loss of the season, so we still have more games to come.

TCNN PIO: And how did it feel for you? I mean, you played really hard in the last game. How did it feel for you to be on the hardwood?

Koweno: Well, I just came back. This is my first tournament back because I had a knee injury, so it felt pretty good. I mean, it's kind of hard because I'm still not at my full self, but it felt really good.

The boys’ championship between Big Pasture Rangers and Sterling Tigers would have a halftime score of Sterling 35 to Big Pasture 20.

With Tukker Hughes putting up a three on the board.

The gap continued to broaden as Sterling rallied for points, with Hughes sinking another three. The Tigers finished with 60 points to Rangers 44.

TCNN PIO: How did it feel to place today for the second time in a row?

Tukker Hughes: It felt amazing. I'm just glad I could do it with my teammates and my Lord and Savior.

TCNN PIO: And how did it feel to be on the court again? You know, I mean, you come out here, you play in front of massive crowds, and you make it to the finals again. How does that feel?

Hughes: It felt amazing. I got chills every time I play. It just feels amazing.

TCNN PIO: And is there anything else that you want to talk about tonight that you want to touch on that I may have missed?

Hughes: I just want to say that I love my teammates and couldn't do it with anyone else.

Walters Lady Blue Devils last won championships in 2022, while Sterling Tigers won in 2023, 2024 and 2025, making this win a three-peat.
