Comanche Nation Entertainment Hosts Blood Drive
Comanche Nation Entertainment will host a blood drive on Monday, December 23, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Comanche Red River Hotel Casino in the Warrior Room and another from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Comanche Nation Casino Admin Building.
Comanche Nation Entertainment Director of Marketing Andrew Simpson said there are several incentives for those who donate.
“From the casino side is that we're giving away ten dollars in Comanche credit with successful donations and from our Blood Institute is also giving away a free t-shirt and free refreshments as well as two movie tickets,” he said.
Simpson said it’s important to donate blood.
“Personally, we've been impacted by needing blood units ourselves with a few things in the past,” he said. “But in addition to just how I've personally been affected by it, I think for the community, being able to have support for traumatic injuries, cancer treatments, emergency situations, definitely important, especially around this time of the year, making sure that you know donations might not come as often as they do for the remainder of the year.”
There has been a lot of work put into the event, according to Simpson.
“The marketing teams at both of the properties worked with the Blood Institute here in Lawton to get this occasion started. We've worked with them in the past through our Comanche Cares Foundation as well, so I think around May of last year, we had around 30 units that were successfully donated here in Lawton at Comanche Nation Casino, so we're looking to hopefully meet or exceed those levels for this year, too.”
He said he’s grateful to be a part of an organization that gives back.
