Comanche Nation Fair Begins with Golf Tournament

Golfers teed off on Friday, September 20, at Lawton Municipal Golf Course for Comanche Nation Fair’s Golf Tournament.

Comanche Nation Transit has hosted the golf tournament for three years.

Comanche Nation Transit Administrative Assistant Staci Davis said they enjoy bringing the surrounding communities out.

“Being the third year, we've seen a lot of regulars, so we get people that come back, and we really enjoy that,” she said

Davis’ personal favorite moment is networking.

“Visiting, seeing everybody, kidding around with the golfers because there are a lot of jokesters,” she said.

Davis was in charge of the raffles and getting sponsors, including City National Bank, Liberty Bank and CHR, as well as Comanche Nation Entertainment.

“This year, we had several sponsors within the nation,” she said. “Our Comanche Nation workforce helped us out quite a bit.”

Davis said the goal of the golf tournament is to bring the community together.

“It feels good when the community comes together and even within the nation, our departments within the nation, I mean all of us look forward to the Comanche Nation Fair. It feels good when we all come together and get stuff like this done,” she said.

Davis said planning began in March.
