Youth Trick or Treat at Comanche Nation Assisted Living

On Friday, October 28, the Comanche Nation Assisted Living Center staff dressed up for their annual Trick or Treat event.

Assisted Living Administrator Jennifer Williams said they invited the Early Childhood Development Center and the Comanche Academy. It’s their second year inviting the groups.

“It's a great way for the residents to get to enjoy trick-or-treaters, but also be in a kind of a safe environment. COVID is still out there, so we're just trying to keep our residents safe. Instead of opening to the public, we do a special event just for them,” she said.

Williams said she enjoyed having the young ones out for the event and keeping the elders involved with the community.

“I think it's wonderful for them to be able to see them. It's wonderful for the kids, too, to be able to see their elders and be able to interact with them. Our residents just enjoy having company and kids around, so this is a great event for them,” she said.

Williams said she loved watching the kids come through and be excited about the decorations, as well as leaving with a bag of candy.

Elders also read books in Comanche to children at the event.
