About Native Employment Works (N.E.W.)
Those clients who are considered single head of household and/or received TANF will be given priority for NEW services. The following work activities will be provided to clients who have been determined eligible for services: basic education, occupational training, and work experience. Once a client is determined eligible for services, they will be assessed for job readiness through the identification of their educational attainment, occupational skill set, and any barriers they may face that prevent them from obtaining full-time employment. The overall goal of the program is to help clients obtain unsubsidized employment. Services will be provided to clients who meet the Department of Health & Human Services Poverty Guidelines which is associated with this grant.
