Senior Spotlight: Kyree Coleman

Cache Bulldog Kyree Coleman plays wide receiver and sports number 15.

He also plays basketball as a point guard and shooting guard and anywhere on the baseball field but catcher.

Coleman said beating Clinton on Senior Night, which took place Friday, October 27, was one of his greatest accomplishments.

“First time we beat them in a long time,” he said.

Coleman said it was a big deal because not only was it senior night, but it was also the last home game on the Cache football field for him.

“My team went out there, they did their thing, we all put our work together and got a big win tonight,” he said.

Coleman said he’s going to miss his team and Cache High School, which has also kept him close to his culture.

“Just going out there competing with native club and stuff; being student rep of JOM out here; talking to other native cultures and stuff,” he said.

Coleman said he’s also at the Comanche Nation Tribal Complex almost every weekend.

“The food is good for one, and then just being able to learn all the stuff that they used to do with the hunting and stuff,” he said. “It's been very interesting.”

During his downtime, Coleman enjoys a variety of hobbies and said his favorite video game is Apex Legends.

“I do a lot of fishing, you know, a couple of art when I'm on my free time and video games. I like video games,” he said.

Coleman said he and his brother used to play video games together.

“Since I was like a little kid, my brother's been playing video games, and I've been watching him, and we play games all together, so that's what really kept me in it,” he said.

Coleman said he and his older brother are really close, and his younger brother also plays with them.

He has received a couple of scholarships from the University of Kansas and plans to play football there after high school and become a psychologist because he likes helping people.

Coleman said his interest stemmed from a psychology class at Cache High School.
