Congressman Cole Visits Comanche Nation

On Wednesday, October 5, Congressman Tom Cole visited Comanche Nation Headquarters. According to Comanche Nation Chairman Mark Woommavovah, it is the first congressman who has visited the headquarters.

“We didn’t want to make it too political; I wanted to ask his leadership questions,” he said. “Because he represents us at the state of Oklahoma as well as 39 other tribes.”

The congressman and chairman took a tour of the complex together.

“At the federal level, he shares that information at the state level and the state shares it at the local level,” Woommavovah said. “And we live in the local. We live in the local area. So important we make those different connections for the betterment of our tribe.”

And as for first impressions…

“He’s an ultimate professional. He is very educated. He speaks from the heart and he is an OU graduate; got his Ph.D. through the University of Oklahoma. He taught politics and history,” Woommavovah said. “And it was just a phenomenal visit.”

Woommavovah received a Senator Coin. It’s Cole’s coin from the U.S. House of Representatives. Cole received a Comanche Nation Coin of Excellence by going above and beyond the call of duty by accepting the office call and adding value to the Comanche Nation, according to Woommavovah.
