Comanche Nation Particpates in Operation Feather Give

On Wednesday, March 5, Comanche Nation received 25 eagle feathers from the Iowa tribe in Perkins, Oklahoma.

Comanche Nation Vice Chairman Diana Sovo-Doyebi and Comanche Indian Veterans Association participated in Operation Feather Give, which promoted tribal unity.

“We're very honored to be here,” she said. “Us and our veterans came to represent Comanche Nation, and this is a very good step in the right direction, a positive direction for our tribes in Oklahoma. Many times, we're so busy doing our own things within our own tribes. This is a good step to bring them together and begin to work together because we, as Native American people, must work together in order to survive.”

The eagle feathers will go to veterans.

“Maybe hand-to-hand combat veterans. They will be instilled to those,” Sovo-Doyebi said.

She said she felt good about the day.

“Thank good Lord God Almighty for giving us a fair trip, and everything that's going on is in a positive direction,” Sovo-Doyebi said.

Lloyd Heminokeky led a blessing and prayer at the Grey Snow Eagle House.
