Comanche Nation Enterprises Cuts Ribbon to Second Office

Comanche Nation Enterprises cut the ribbon on Wednesday, November 13, at their business location on 909 SW D Ave in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Their offices at Numunu Staffing and Construction will be focused, and the new location is an expansion to focus on other business opportunities that would have offices.

Chairman of the board for Comanche Nation Enterprises Mike Keahbone said the day was a celebration of a milestone.

“And that is to be able to have an enterprise that is multifaceted, that has a lot of options as far as our revenue growth in our tribe. So, we had a mainstay with Numunu Staffing, with Numunu Construction, and they have an office that did a ribbon cutting a couple of years ago, maybe three years ago,” he said. “But in this new venture, in a new office, in a new place, we're trying to look outside of that box to try to expand. And so, we wanted to celebrate that and share that with our community today.”

Comanche Nation Enterprises Operations Manager Ashley Joslyn said they can take on initiatives and partnerships on behalf of the tribe.

“Being the Section 17 chartered corporation for the tribe, we can take on a lot of initiatives on behalf of the tribe. And a couple of what we're working on is a broadband company. We also have a healthcare initiative, so hopefully setting up Comanche Nation Healthcare within the next couple of years,” she said. “And then we got a 3.88 allocation from SSBCI, which is for small businesses. So tribal members can go to our website, ComancheNationEnterprises.com, and apply for a business loan with us. It's to help invest in our tribal members and invest in the community.”

Keahbone said he enjoys that they’re looking forward to improving the community and expanding the Comanche Nation's financial resources.

“There are so many opportunities in our community. Lawton is growing at a great pace right now with opportunities,” he said. “And so, we want to be a part of that expansion, not trying to catch up in the future. And so, this office is going to give us the ground zero in entering into that arena.”

The Lawton Chamber of Commerce Red Coats and the community were invited to the ribbon cutting.

“We wanted the city to be a major part of what we're doing, and the Redcoats are obviously the signature group that is a part of that,” Keahbone said. “And so, these are local business owners that believe the same thing that we do, that Lawton's a better place when we're all helping each other do better. So, it was important to have them here.”

The offices are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
