Senior Spotlight: Ryan Kosechata

Ryan Kosechata is number 50 on the Walters Blue Devils football team as an offensive Left Guard, and on defense, he plays tackle.

 

He’s getting his grades up to prepare for vo-tech and college.

 

“For Votech, I'm going to study carpentry, and then I'll probably do some type of engineering in college,” Kosechata said.

 

 He said family is his motivation comes from his family.

 

“My dad and his uncles and my uncles. My little brother is also playing football too so I try to represent for him,” Kosechata said. “Everyone I play with, too, it's pretty much a family.”

 

He said he’s related to most of the players on his team.

 

“I’m related to Nathan Pueblo, I'm related to Cyrus Blackstar, Koby Kosechata is my little brother, and then everyone that's not related to me, we just have that deep connection like we are,” Kosechata said.

 

 

He said they integrate their heritage into gameplay by playing the drums and singing together. They try to incorporate the feeling into their game. Kosechata said he tries to be a mentor for others.

 

“I try to set the standards where I could be, even if I'm not 100 percent I am, just be that bigger,” he said.

 

Kosechata is also in track, powerlifting, band and art. He also usually plays baseball and basketball.
