Higher Education

The Comanche Nation Higher Education Department believes that our tribal members have the capacity to excel as learners and as citizens when provided with diverse, supportive and stimulating educational opportunities.

Concurrently, we believe that tribal members must strive to preserve our native language, tribal stories, traditional values and cultural mores.

About Us

CNHE provides grants to Comanche students to attend post-secondary institutions/colleges and universities while pursuing a bachelor's degree or a two-year program which will transfer to a four-year program. In order to qualify for an award, a student must be an enrolled member of the Comanche Nation; be a high school graduate or possess a GED certificate; be approved for admission by the college; show a financial need; and provide a letter of intent assuring success in completing a 4-year college degree program. Funding is from the Bureau of Indian Affairs Office of Indian Education Program referred to as P.L. 92-638 & Comanche Nation Gaming.
