Native American Graves Protection & Repatriation Act


Our mission is to implement the regulations of NAGPRA and protect the common interest of the Comanche Nation in regards to human remains and cultural items.


The NAGPRA office serves the Nation by performing the following duties: 

  • Repatriation of culturally significant religious items, funerary objects and human remains determined to be Comanche or of Comanche origin
  • Investigation and documentation of marked and unmarked gravesites
  • Consult with tribal, state, and federal entities on all NAGPRA related matters
