Prevention & Recovery


The mission of the Comanche Nation Prevention & Recovery program is to support Native Americans of all ages in living a life free of dependence of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, gambling, self-destructive, addictive, and abusive behaviors by integrating substance abuse and mental health approaches.


Prevention & Recovery provides the following:

  • Referrals to drug & alcohol assessments and DUI Schools
  • Transportation to residential programs
  • Relapse prevention education
  • Problem and compulsive gambling assistance
  • Anger management classes
  • Parenting training
  • Batterer’s intervention classes
  • Marriage enrichment counciling 
  • Life skill development training
  • Substance abuse education


Outpatient Treatment Program

The Prevention & Recovery Outpatient Office offers the unique opportunity for learning and developing new skills to cope with the realities of daily life. Events and problems experienced by clients can be discussed in a group setting with confidentiality. Clients will learn problem-solving skills to enhance their coping skills. This will strengthen the client’s possibilities for successful and lasting change.



All enrolled Comanche tribal members are eligible. Limited services and referrals are offered to all federally recognized tribes residing within the Comanche Nation service area, which includes the counties of Comanche Cotton, Kiowa, Tillman, Jefferson, and Stephens.
