Chairman's Statement from Pawnee Oklahoma

Tue, 07/16/2019 - 4:47pm

Dear Comanche Family,

As we travel and gather for Comanche Homecoming, I would like to say Welcome Home and be safe and have an enjoyable weekend of fellowship.

My family’s extended mourning time seems to never end. My wife, “Lillie”, just lost her Mother. We will not be at Walters, Oklahoma for the 3rd straight year. I am requesting the prayer warriors to lift my “Lillie” up in your talks with God.

NUMUNU – Let us all be mindful of our leaders of the past as we celebrate Chiefs Day Friday, July 19, 2019.

I would like to inform the nation; the 2nd Saturday of September the entire State of Texas will honor “Quanah Parker” by celebrating “Quanah Parker Day.” This is a historical event and Texas is the first state to honor a Native American Leader within the United States. To know that a day is designated to honor a Comanche Chief is incredible. The Comanche Business Committee and I ask all Comanche organizations and families to help us plan this upcoming event.

Be forever in good thoughts, prayer, and servitude to the betterment of all man kind. God Bless You All.

God Bless the Comanche Nation.

Chairman William Nelson, Sr.
