Assistance (Caregivers)

EATING - ASSISTANCE WITH FEEDING
DRESSING – HELP GETTING DRESSED
BATHING - ASSIST WITH THEIR BATH
TRANSFERRING - ASSIST WITH WALKING
TOILETING - NEEDING HELP WITH GOING TO THE RESTROOM
INCONTINENCE - REQUIRING ASSISTANCE
ALZHEIMER’S OR DEMENTIA

 

And chronic conditions leading to disability : Heart disease, Stroke, Diabetes, Pulmonary disease. Affecting functioning ability: Arthritis, Vision and Hearing loss , Osteoporosis, Impairment, Hypertension, and other illness and diseases.

Services (Caregivers)

If you are a caregiver then you maybe eligible for caregiver services such as the following:



1. Information - to caregivers about services.

2. Assistance - to caregivers in gaining access to the services(individual one-on-one)

3. Counseling - support groups, and caregiver training to assist the caregiver in making decisions and solving problems relating to their care giving roles.

4. Respite - care to enable caregivers to be temporary relieved from their care giving responsibilities.

5. Supplementa l- Services on a limited basis to compliment the care provided by caregivers.







 

If you area caregiver who is sixty (60) years or older or if you are a grandparent sixty (60) years or older raising your grandchildren who is eighteen (18) years or younger, you may be eligible for assistance with the elderly requiring two (2) activities of daily living.

Emergency Assistance

Emergency Assistance: This program is designed to assist eligible tribal members in need of financial assistance through direct assistance or referrals to other available resources within the tribe or outside agencies.  Currently this program only assists with utilities and rent.  The applicant must be an enrolled member of the Comanche Nation and head of household.

Burial Assistance

Burial Assistance: This program is designed to assist the survivors of the deceased enrolled tribal members in meeting the high cost of burial expenses by making a payment to the funeral home.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP): This program is designed for eligible tribal members to assist with emergency heating and cooling cost. Tribal members must reside in the five (5) county service areas, which are: Caddo, Comanche, Cotton, Kiowa and Tillman counties; meet income guidelines and have not received assistance from the State of Oklahoma Department of Human Services.
